🌟 SHE Advisor – WPS (South of West Midlands) 🌟
Are you passionate about safety, wellbeing, and driving a positive culture across sites and teams? 🦺💬
We're looking for a committed SHE Advisor to join our WPS business, supporting our projects across the South of the West Midlands. In this role, you'll provide expert SHE guidance, coaching, and hands-on support — helping our project teams deliver safely, consistently and in line with our Wates Professional Standards. 💙
✨ What You’ll Be Doing
🔍 Visit projects regularly and complete detailed H&S Support Visits
👷 Coach project leads on risk identification, mitigation, and Operating Framework compliance
📝 Lead and support incident investigations, sharing learnings to drive continual improvement
📄 Review RAMS and project plans to ensure they are timely, accurate and fit for purpose
🏗️ Support project teams with bid preparation and pre‑construction information
🤝 Build strong relationships with supply chain partners and influence SHE best practice
📘 Ensure compliance with Wates Professional Standards
🌱 Mentor supply chain and client SHE reps on the WPS Operating Framework and New START strategy
🌍 Additional Responsibilities
🚗 Fully mobile across the region
🗣️ Able to translate SHE policy across all areas of the business
💡 Positive approach to problem‑solving and continuous improvement
🤝 Respectful, curious and confident to challenge appropriately — never walk by
👤 About You
You’ll bring:
📚 Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar SHE role
🔎 Strong hazard identification and risk assessment skills
📜 Solid knowledge of construction SHE legislation
📝 Strong reporting, analytical and presentation skills
⚠️ Experience with asbestos management (essential)
🎓 Qualifications
✔️ Tech IOSH / IOSH Cert (minimum)
✔️ NEBOSH Diploma / NVQ Level 4 or working toward MIOSH
✔️ P405 Asbestos Management or Duty to Manage (desirable)
