Resident Engineer (Electrical Bias)

We  have an excellent opportunity for an experienced Resident Engineer (Electrical Bias) to join our team based at Millers Quay, a prestigious waterfront residential development in Birkenhead.

The site consists of six high‑rise apartment blocks (circa 500 apartments), along with a gym and pavilion, and requires a dedicated on‑site engineer to support the day‑to‑day operation and maintenance of building services.


About the Role

As Resident Engineer, you will be responsible for the planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance of electrical and associated building services, as well as responding to engineering emergencies on site.

You will take ownership of the day‑to‑day M&E activity, ensuring works are completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard. Strong time management, problem‑solving skills and the ability to work independently are essential in this role.


Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out PPM and reactive maintenance across electrical systems and building services
  • Respond to site engineering emergencies in a timely and professional manner
  • Manage and maintain the day‑to‑day running of M&E tasks on site
  • Use the client’s CAFM system to accept and manage jobs, ensuring SLAs are met and paperwork is uploaded
  • Supervise subcontractors, ensuring RAMS are reviewed, approved and followed
  • Liaise effectively with the client’s site management team, helpdesk and other engineers
  • Ensure all works are delivered in line with company policies, procedures and health & safety standards
  • Carry out basic fire door inspections (training provided)
  • Undertake basic plumbing and fabric works where required

About You

  • Electrically qualified with C&G Level 3 and 18th Edition
  • Experience working in a resident / site‑based engineering role or similar FM environment
  • Basic knowledge of domestic plumbing and fabric works is advantageous
  • Confident multitasking, working to deadlines and problem solving on the job
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to liaise professionally with clients and colleagues
  • Comfortable using Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook
  • CAFM experience desirable but not essential – full training provided
