About the Role

As a HR Business Partner with Wates Property Services, you will be working within our Facilities Management Division covering on a National basis. We have offices in Manchester, Redditch & Finsbury Park which you will need to be commutable to at least 3 days a week.  As the role is heavily about business support and stakeholder management you will need to be visible to the business meaning travel is required. 

 You’ll work directly with line managers and team leaders to implement HR best practices that support our business goals. You’ll be the go-to person for HR guidance, coaching managers on effective people management and ensuring that our HR processes are applied consistently and effectively. Additionally, the role may lead, or participate in, projects that span the whole of WPS.

You’ll also have access to our HR Centres of Excellence, including a Shared Service Centre and expert teams in core HR areas, giving you plenty of resources to help you succeed and learn.

What You’ll Do

  • Coaching & Support: Work with managers to help them lead, develop, and motivate their teams, offering coaching to foster effective people management.
  • Compliance & Governance: Ensure that people processes and decisions meet compliance and governance standards, driving consistency and high performance.
  • Talent & Development: Support managers in identifying talent, planning for succession, and ensuring development needs are met through training and career growth opportunities.
  • Change Management: Assist in managing change initiatives, ensuring that people-related processes are compliant, fair, and aligned with our values.
  • Employee Relations: Help resolve employee relations cases in a timely, effective manner and work on initiatives to boost employee engagement.
  • Performance & Reward: Support the delivery of our performance and reward processes, helping managers to implement annual salary reviews and performance improvement plans.

About You:

You will be a Graduate or equivalent with a minimum of CIPD level 5 qualification and have already gained hands-on experience in HR, ideally in a business unit or multi-site setting.

Knowledge & Approach: You have a strong grasp of employment law and HR best practices, with a practical and solution-oriented mindset.

Skills: You’re a problem-solver with great communication skills, and you’re comfortable coaching and advising managers at all levels.

Business/Commercial Acumen: You’re comfortable working in a commercial environment and bring a pragmatic approach to balancing business and people priorities.
